Chewed Slippers

Brand, build and launch a doggie eCommerce site into a crowded market and make people come and sniff around!

The Solution

We turned the naming of the new business into a story that would launch the brand to the public. Luckily we had all of the right ingredients; 3 names we were happy with and a helpful set of paws! Enter Chunky:

Yep, Chunky is a dog, and we took him to Primrose Hill, where he picked a winner by running into the “triangle of choice” (3 guys with potential names on T-Shirts).

Chewed Slippers was born – with this  stunt forming the basis of a PR launch… “Dog Names Shop” is a story we knew would appeal to our audience!

Next step was logo design. After a bunch of iterations, here’s what we went with:

Then, on to the website. We got our super-geeky mates over at White October on the case, and they unearthed Magento… a free, open source eCommerce solution.

We had to make sure we designed in such a way that everything worked with Magento’s templates, and still looked clean and beautiful. We’re really pleased with the results at ChewedSlippers.co.uk (check out the dog-basket-shopping-basket!).

Finally, the really fun bit… Chewed Slippers needed to find loyal customers, which they’re now doing with a doggie social media campaign. We conceived and implemented the The Petspertise blog – which is kept up-to-date by a panel of pet experts, including vets and nutritionists… and Chunky himself, who reviews products and details his adventures!

All of this is great content for doggie lovers, who can even make friends with Chunky on Twitter.
